SCULPTURAL METALWORK

Event description

Create a unique garden art project!

You’ll explore different metalworking techniques that include cutting, fixing (including welding) and shape forming metal. It's a logical choice if you are a previous welding student or existing hobbyist who wants to expand your artistic and practical skill base. Also, novices who want a safe “taste” of metalwork are also encouraged to participate.

The focus will be on creating your own garden art with recycled mixed metals (upcycling). Materials are supplied so you can practice new techniques like shape forming and welding. You can also bring your own recycled metal objects and materials to incorporate into your art creation.

Your trainer, Nyree, is a skilled creator of metal art and objects with over 30 years’ experience. She’s designed an enjoyable and informative class that will help you gain confidence creating with metal. For examples of her work visit: https://www.smithart.com.au/galleryhome.html

Small class size. Over 16 years of age only, or accompanied by adult.

All PPE is included, as well as tea, coffee and morning tea snacks (vegan and gluten free options available).
